Heat press time, temperature and pressure
These are standard DTF starting points. Every press runs a little different — always test on a scrap or inside hem first.
| Fabric | Temp | Time | Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton | about 320°F | 10–15 s | Medium |
| Cotton/poly blends | about 320°F | 10–15 s | Medium |
| Polyester | about 270–280°F | 10–15 s | Medium-firm |
The steps
- Pre-press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Place the transfer ink-side down and press with the settings above.
- Peel the film the way the SnapDTF card in your order says (hot or cold — it depends on the film).
- Finish with a second press for 5–10 seconds with parchment or a cover sheet. This locks the ink into the fabric and makes it last.
Tips
- Lower the temperature for polyester to avoid scorching and dye migration.
- If a corner lifts when peeling, lay the film back down and press again for 5 seconds.
- Wait 24 hours before the first wash. Wash inside out, cold, and skip high-heat drying.
